Home made vehicles for farmers to transport manure and crops to and from the fields. Tuscany and surrounding regions. with a global overview

Advantages and sustainability

Most vehicles of this kind are built at home with basic tools, and serve the purpose of trasporting heavi loads of crops or manure to and from the fileds. The are generally pulled by oxen by means of a yoke, but versions of these may be pulled by people, or equines. They are iudeal for transport on soft soils, in tropical Africa or on stony ground, sand and marchlands where wheels usually sind or do not work.
