Technique: WALLED AND PROTECTED GARDENS

Definition characters description and diffusion

Little agricultural fields in desert areas are called gardens, just as in Southern Italy, eliminating the seperation between the vegetable garden and the pleasure garden. 

General characters description and diffusion

The Persian Kings made building the pairidaeza, the protected parks full of rare animals and every species of trees and plants belonging. The outside walls protect cultivations from dry winds and keep humid microclimate beneficial for plants.

Advantages and sustainability

Gardens were fortified to protect the vegetation from winds and to keep the microclimate inside the gardens humid as it is more beneficial to the plants.
